The nature of our practice.
FPM&C is unusual for a small firm located in a small town. Our practice tends toward the types of services which are more typically associated with larger, city firms. Our heavy emphasis is in the fields of estate planning, business organization, municipal law, employment law, and trial practice related to both personal injury defense and plaintiff’s cases.
We pride ourselves on our ability to provide our clients with these services at substantially lower cost than typically charged by city firms.
At the same time, we have formed enduring relationships with clients who are typical of a small town practice, particularly in the fields of estate planning and agricultural law. Our experience with agribusiness gives us a unique advantage and insight into the formation, operation and planning for succession of closely held and family businesses. We are also privileged to have assisted clients with matters related to riparian rights throughout northern Michigan.
Who are our clients?
FPM&C'S existing clients literally run the gamut from individuals to the area's largest employers. Included among them are, by way of example: State Farm Mutual Insurance Company, the cities of Alma and St.Louis, the County of Gratiot, the Gratiot County Road Commission, Farmers State Bank of Breckenridge, Commercial Bank, Gratiot Community Credit Union, Graco Federal Credit Union, Bear Truss and Components, Powell Fabrication and Manufacturing, Gratiot Medical Center, Craig Frames, Inc., Alma Iron and Metal; and many more.
Where do we practice?
We represent clients as far afield as the metropolitan Detroit area to the south, and Marquette, in the Upper Peninsula, to the north. Our trial practice finds us appearing in both state and federal courts, including the counties of Gratiot, Clinton, Saginaw, Midland, Montcalm, Ionia, Mecosta, Isabella, Clare, Gladwin, Osceola, Wexford, and Roscommon.
